The Rap artist “H@mmy” drops the new banger “Imminent” on Spotify

H@mmy has released the new hit single “Imminent” which is a lovely rap track with nice acoustic guitars. The artist is sharp at what he does and you notice early in the song that he wants to stay! It’s rare to hear such a good flow with good text and here the combination is outstanding! We at the editorial office had the song on repeat for an hour and thought about how it grew and grew! We wish H@mmy the best of luck with his new single here at Melodico Music.

Where are you from?
I’m from Bristol, UK

Who are your biggest artistic influences?
My biggest artistic influences are probably Songer, Mac Miller, Ocean Wisdom and Eminem in that order, for everyone bar Mac it’s due to wordplay, bars and lyricism however Mac influences me heavily in terms of beats and he gives me the drive to write emotive songs that come from a real place.

Tell me about your favorite medium to work with, paper computer or freestyle?
My favorite medium to work with would be a computer, I have a whole lyric library in my notes app which I’m constantly adding to as well as having the DAW I use on there too so it’s super convenient when it comes to writing new stuff.

Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration mainly from other artists, I listen to the type of things they talk about and their rhyme schemes and I try to apply it to my own life and music, I have a few unreleased songs where I frequently talk about mental health struggles as well as how tough it is as an independent artist trying to make it without industry contacts.

When is your favorite time of day to create your music.
My favourite time to create music is either first thing in the morning or early evening, I seem to have a creative boost around these times and I’m able to fully zone in on what I’m creating.

Describe how art is essential to society nowadays.
Art nowadays I believe provides a sense of relief to people who are struggling in an otherwise brutal and unforgiving world, people often view art for the purpose of altering their mood whether that’s in a positive or negative way it still happens and I think it’s so important for any type of artist to continue to create so we can provide that brief break, experience, mood lift or perspective change for people who need it the most.

What motivates you to create?
I’ll be honest it sounds selfish but the main thing driving me to create is the buzz I get when I finish a track, it’s an unbelievable feeling that doesn’t seem to go away especially when the song is well received, it makes me so excited to put out new music and write things that continue to impress people.

How do you define success as an music artist?
Success as an artist to me is being confident that whatever I put out is better than my last project, I believe if I continue to purely focus on beating my own personal records success naturally follows.

Does art help you in other areas of your life?
Art helps massively with my mental health even if I just vent into a mic it’s much better than bottling that stuff up to a point where it comes out in a negative and unhealthy way. I think it’s such a good tool to have as I can also get deep into my emotions and learn more about myself while I write, it’s very much a win-win

How do you develop your art skills?
I gained my skills through Google and YouTube, I had no prior music knowledge and I actually only write my first lyric in late December 2022, since then I’ve had no help and had to teach myself everything I know in terms of best making, lyric writing, recording and production. Having no industry friends makes it difficult to reach my potential as quickly as I’d like but I’m grateful that I was forced to do everything for myself as it’s given me a sense of purpose and a drive for success that I’ve never had before

What is your next move?
The next move for me is travelling, I’ve saved up enough to a point where I can afford to go see some more of the world so that’s exactly what I’m going to do, I’ll be writing while I’m away and as soon as I can find a good studio I’ll be ready to put out more material but for now it’s about life experiencesj

Where will we see you in 5 years?
In 5 years you’ll see me at festivals, selling out arenas and on every billboard in a 10-mile radius

What do you think?
